Dan, great to read about your adventure. I have considered doing the same at Thunderhill, but reading posts about wearing out a set of tires, brakes etc. made my tight wallet shrivel even more. What was your experience with wear and tear on the car? How many laps did you complete? How many miles on your tires when you started? If I go, can I drive your car? (just kidding) Who is your dealer, and what's the next date?

I put 120 track miles on the car and the tires look pretty good. It really helped that I had and instructor show me the correct line and talk about how to keep the heat out of the tires and breaks. I have 4300 miles on the car and I

Yeah.. I spent 2 days at Thunderhill last year with my Miata. Fun Track.

Do us all a favor, and if the Acura guys dont mind, let us know when next you're going. I for one would be there tomorrow if it were a possibility.

I think hard street driving is tougher on the tires than the track.. the use of first and second gear at most of these tracks is limited and the surface is reasonably smooth so there is less tire spin.

The brakes are another matter, and depending upon the track you can use up more than half of the life in a set of pads.. but stock pads and fluid are reasonably inexpensive.

This car is more at home on the track than anywhere else, so I urge you to try it. With a little instruction you can wind up having more fun than you have ever had (alone) in a car.

Cdelena I agree about the instruction. It made a big difference after the laps with the instructor. It went from

Congrats Dan,

I'm jealous. I did the driving dynamics class a few weeks ago at the Pocono Speedway, boy was that fun. We had 7 turns including a hairpin. It was definitely challenging enough, but to double the turns, wow!!! I definitely agree having an instructor show you the line is very helpful.

I had one of the instructors drive my car and he loved it. After those laps I drove the S2k harder, what a blast... What a great car.

I hope we could do something like this when everyone gathers at the asheville meet...

If you have not experienced the S2k at the track you owe you and the car that experience...
