Two Questions
Have have two questions on my new '01 Spa Yellow S2000. First, if I lock my doors with the keyless remote I can still reach inside the car and manually unlock the doors and the alarm doesn't go off. If I try this scenario in other cars I've owned the alarm always went off. If you try this on your S2000 does your alarm go off? Second, this might sound stupid, there where four black plastic mud flap looking things, and several black plugs, in the truck when I bought the car. But I can't find any mention of what they are? Did anybody else have these? What are they for?

Did you get the honda alarm? Or do you just have the keyless entry? If you have the alarm, then take it back to the dealer and complain. I've tried unlocking the doors when I set my alarm and it goes off.

Hmm, I'll have to see if my alarm does the same thing.
I believe the black flaps are "wind baffles" that go in front of each tire. I believe most dealers install those before delivery, but seems like I've seen some threads where others didn't have them installed. Might need to have the dealer install them for you. (I'm not 100% sure about all of this, but I think that's what they are)

You may not have the alarm system on yours. All USD S2000s came with a keyless entry security system with ignition immobilizer. The "alarm" system is an added option.
The four mud flaps are strakes that mount in front of each tire on the underside of the car. And the plugs fill the tie down holes on the bottom side of the car. The dealer was suppose to install these during the prep of your car. Since they seem to have missed this I would also HIGHLY suspect they did not remove the spring spacers either. You really need to find out that ASAP before you have any problems with your suspension.

Also, if you are suppose to have the "alarm" system check to see if you got the "Optional Hood Switch". Otherwise even if you have the alarm someone could reach in, open the engine compartment and disconnect the battery without ever making a sound.
I did not purchase an additional alarm system. I assumed it came standard since the car has keyless entry, and the sales person told me it had a built in alarm. That explains that issue. The comment about the spring spacers in the suspension has be worried. Is there any way I can check myself to make sure they were taken out?

Ok, I checked for the spring rubbers and they have already been removed. What are the wheel strakes supposed to do? Help wind noise? Aerodynamics? How important are they? Should I make the dealer install them and the tied down plugs?
