I was looking at the top and noticed two things:

1) what are the elastic straps for? They are right above the passanger and driver

and

2) There are four velcro looking things around the rear screen. Looks like there was supposed to be some sort of cover for the rear screen? Maybe to drop protect it when lowering?

Edit: found answer for the second question. what about the first?

Sorry...
apparantly when the car is shipped there's a protective covering for the rear window that's velcro'd on to the car... I guess most dealers remove and throw it out.
