Two-Tones Paint 4 S2K
I am considering adding a second color to my Silverstone "S" therefore the car would be two-tones. I think a darker shade of gray with a black/red pin stripe separating the two might work well. I have played with black as a 2nd color but it is too much contrast for me. Something suttle from a distance and striking up close. NO rice please! Also u can c from my sig I have a painted (except vents) CF hood. I may go back to the original hood. Suttle rally stripes may look good. Any suggestions and/or photo's of other cars would be appreciated. Maybe the "S" is not suited for 2 tones but I would like to be original if it complements this great car. Please move to Gallery if this subject is in the wrong forum.
I could see an S with:
- subtlely darker rocker panels
- a darker hood & trunk
- fat striping down the upper sides (think NISMO)
- a front-to-back fade from light to dark
- maybe a slightly darker than silverstone flame job
I can't see an S with:
- narrow racing stripes
- narrow pin striping
- any kind of transition in the middle of the side of the car
- a top-to-bottom fade from light to dark
- subtlely darker rocker panels
- a darker hood & trunk
- fat striping down the upper sides (think NISMO)
- a front-to-back fade from light to dark
- maybe a slightly darker than silverstone flame job

I'm sorry man two tone will not work well with the s2000. There is no good spot to cut in a second car and those colors ( not to step on your toes ) will look hideous. If you want to do something I would go with A light silver starting at the front to the silverstone in the back. But then again some people will not know what you did to your car. I would choose a color that will just make the s2000 pop, considering that Silver seems to be the most popular color.
I am not a fan of two-tone paint jobs on many cars, and I don't think the S is one of them. I think it ruins the whole clean look that the car had with a single color, but that is just my opinion. If you like it though, then go for it.

There was a candy apple red S2000 up on eBay a few months back that was sporting a subtle 2-tone paint job.
The break occurred along the ridgeline that runs from head to tail (light). It looked pretty nice, and the ridges provide a natural break for colors. It was similar to the look one might achieve with a carbon fiber hood, h/t, and trunk, except a different color.
