Default U.S. vs. Canada model differences

I'm curious about the differences in the S2000's that get shipped to our good neighbors to the North. Obviously, the metric vs. English conversion for miles and mph can be taken care of by that little switch on the instrument panel. I also recognize that Canadian owners get the daytime running lights - makes me wonder if there is a simple mod for Americans who want that feature. I would also guess that the various stickers would have to be bilingual. Are there any other differences? Perhaps one of our friendly Canadian members can enlighten; how about you, XViper? [I sometimes wonder about him. Is that avatar a real photograph???]

Our airbag warning stickers are much more subtle, and only on the hidden part of the sunshades. (No ugly stickers on the dash)
Canadian version is slightly faster - due to the colder air temps.

not faster in the snow though. I really don't think there are any difference other than the ones pointed out, very minor.

Wished we had heated seats though.

In my mind this has got to be one of the biggest errors Honda made with the S2000. Several of my friends have Z3s and M roadsters, and it is so nice to drop the top on a 40 degree sunny day and turn on the seats!!!

<--- This is NOT really me. The only pic of me on this board now appears in babygrass' thread (you'll need a magnifying glass).
Yes there is a simple mod to get DRL's. Do a google search and you'll see quite a few modules for sale. They sell for between $20.-$50.00 Funny, I thought all you guys State-side hated DRL's? The proper module should use only 40-70% of the headlights power. On the S, it uses the high beam lights at reduced power. On other cars like Chrysler, they use the amber running lights. I prefer the way it is on the S.

As for yellow, I think DogMan and VTEXTC will disaggree with you. That color was freely available but at reduced production #'s as is the case for yellow in most car lines.

Heated seats - definately an oversight on Honda's part but these can be put in for about $3-500.00 Can. There are a couple of places in Calgary that can do it. I use a hunk of thick, black sheepskin in winter. This works really well and has no lag time like a heated seat would. I remember in my Jeep, at -28*C, it took almost as long to heat the seat as it would have for my butt heat to work. A few beans the night before and I really didn't need the electric heaters anyway.

Although not in every case, S2000's sold in Canada usually come with a block heater.

We also have a unique "air box baffle" that prevents snow from getting into the intake. There is also an under nose "air dam" for snow plowing. Did I mention that our SO2's have mounting holes for ice studs? (j/k)

As a side note (very odd): My '04 Viper had one major difference - the seat belts. Most cars you grab the belt from the door side and lock it in next to the center console. The Canadian Viper had this reversed.

Didn't they have Monte Carlo Blue for 2001 Canadian model S2000? My HELM manual seems to indicate so.
