Alright, I know it's a bit of a twisted message. . .it's not a new model at all and in fact, many owners in the US have them right now!

Here's what I found. . .

New for 2002, The S2000 range has been further enhanced by the addition of the S2000 GT, adding a body coloured hard top to the car for additional security and comfort, with the option to remove the hard top and revert to the soft hood whenever the urge arises. Full details available from your local Honda dealer.

I guess the "GT" branding is a big deal in the UK. . .

Always had the hard-top, available as a costly option, this GT model adds it as standard for half the price.

Of course you might be more interested in the TypeR we're getting in June.

Just fishing caught myself a big one

Of course if the TypeR does ever come out, you know we will get it before the US though.

It can be done, and insurers over here already have it on their systems, I don't know of anyone who has one (thats not to say they haven't) but a very few have imported Japanese spec. S2000 (247Bhp) models, the big problem we have with these is UK dealer / Honda UK aren't interested in any warranty claims, and insurers double or even treble premiums on these.

More interested in a official, lighter (100 Kg maybe) S2000 with 25 - 30 more Bhp.
Yep - with a nice "Type R" badge on it !
