Ok, so I dont have the ultimate guide, but I was hoping that we can get some great tips and tricks on car care!!

Here's the scenario: You just got back from a very long trip and find that your car is just a wreck. Dirt, water spots, bird poop, light scratches, the works....Where do you begin and what do you use? Interior cleaning too!!

I was thinking a step-by-step guide would be invaluable. I would like to see how you handle your babies!

If it's been a while since I've polished/waxed mine, I will do so after a very through car wash.

I always start with the interior first....meaning clean the dash, vacuum, clean the seats/condition if necessary, inside windows, etc.

I then proceed to the exterior while the interior is drying.

All this will typically take about 3 hours or so, to the chagrin of my fiancee.

I would recommend the entire treatment before the trip. Makes cleaning after much easier.

I would say to go with Zaino Bros products. I am a recent convert. I applied it for the first time 2 weeks ago and I am very impressed with this product. It is so much easier to work than using a polish/wax combo.

Prior to Zaino, I used Meguiars pro line. I used #9 swirl remover, #7 professional show car glaze, #26 professional Hi-Tech Yellow wax and #34 Final Inspection. I liked how the car looked using Meguiars products, I did not like the length of time involved to do it right...

After the initial coat, it is like nite and day putting on Zaino over Mequiars - 1 step, not 3 (I always put 2 coats of the hi-tech wax on when I did the Mequiars).

The car looks just as phenonemal with the Zaino. Two things really impressed me about Zaino.

The first is everyone saying the look gets better with more coats. I have 3 coats on and will probably get to 1 more coat before storage, but people say with several coats (ie: 6), it looks truly wet and very phat... Heather (aka h-denk) put it on two months before the first ride I met and it looked great even then...

The 2nd thing that impressed me was when we did a S2k meet and cruise in MA, a few cars got involved with plywood debris on the road. One of the black S2k's (Glenn aka g-s2k) got the brunt of the debris. His car got royally mucked. It looked horrible, we were all devastated, especially Glenn. When we stopped, he broke out the zaino and with a little buffing got most of it out except for the deep scratch. At that point in time, I was sold...
