I spun my 04 a few days after I got it. That was when I learned about summer tires in cold weather. I was turning right with a green light from a development onto the main divided 4-lane highway. It was a cold winter day in Colorado with cold tires (about a mile from start-up), and I hit sand as the tires started to break loose with throttle-induced oversteer. I counter-steered, but over-corrected and probably let off the throttle. After a couple of times sideways, I ended up pointed 135 degrees away from where I intended. Fortunately, there was no one following me. The light was still red so I had a chance to get turned around without the complication of oncoming traffic. Lesson learned!!!
Wow, it looks like almost half of 00-03 S2K owners have spun their cars on public roads. Only about a quarter of 04 owners, though I don't know whether that's because of the suspension mods to reduce oversteer, or just because they haven't owned their cars as long...

When you drive the car too hard/fast for your ability to keep it in control (regardless of road conditions...you should have taken those into account) that's when spins happen.

Your poll is flawed. I, for one, chose not to participate because there is no scientific value to it.
So you ask how do you know what your limits are until you've exceeded them? Well, that's a very potentially dangerous and expensive way to find your limits. And you still won't know your limits will you? If you exceed them by 20% will you know it's 20%?
The only way to learn your limits are to slowly approach them. It's also helpful to actually be able to identify when you are getting near them. Most people who haven't done any tracking or taken a class will not be able to approach their limits and/or know when they are getting close. This is why many people recommend taking a class, doing an autocross, or at least attending some HPDE lapping days at a racetrack. These experiences will help not only at improving your driving skill but also in learning your limits and judging conditions so as to avoid spinning in the future.

Are you guys kidding? This post is half true... Spring Spacers are only used for keeping the car suspension snug during shipment... theyre supposed to be taken out before theyre sold at dealerships... the car cant be driven faster than 12-15mph with spring spacers either...
The other side of the post is asking whether or not Ive spun out my car... sure!

The reason I posted the poll, by the way, is that I took an 04 S2K for test drive, and I loved it. The handling was amazing, the shifter was great, and I really felt "connected" with the driving experience. I probably won't buy a new car for a year or so, but the S2000 is on the top of my list. (I still have to test drive a 350Z, though...)
But my previous experience has been almost entirely with FWD cars (Prelude, FWD Talon), so I want to make sure that if I get an S2K, I won't end up regretting it....
