so ii have a 02 s2k and i took my filter box off..
it rained today and i got in my car stared it up
start to go down the road figured i get on it in first
and soon as vtec kicked in car jerks backward HARD
pulled over checkd under the hood ...nothin filter was not wet at all
idk what happend
plz inform my newbie self
btw put me box back in after that

Um, the engine limits redline to 7k when cold?

 

No Vtec when your engine is still cold.

I did the same thing when I hit the street the first time in my s2k... just need to let it warm up a little.


why did you have your filter box off?

 

You have to wait until the car warms up (3+ bars) and keep the air box on, please!

 

Wait for at least four bars, that's when the engine is warmed up.
