Default unidentified button on my center console

hello!

I got a quick question for you.
I have 2001 model and there's this switch on my center console that I never use.

it's behind the cupholder and there are two spots for switches.
I only have one switch to the passenger side. (Nothing's there for the one that's close to driverside.)
I assume it's for defroster that goes to the hardtop.
Could anyone verify this please?
it has a picture that looks like a window with steam coming out.

Thanks in advance!

Updated question

Now, I am pretty positive that the button on my center console (01 s2k) is for the defroster for the hardtop (thanks to everyone who answered my q) and the switch still lights up if I press it.

my question is if I use 02+ hardtop and 02+ mounting kit, is the defroster going to work with the switch?

It's to fog up the windows when you have a hot lady in the car. It only works if you have a hot lady in the car...

I like the above idea, but no, it is just for the rear window defogger for a HT on a 2000 or 2001 car. (2002+ have it moved to the dash just in front of the inition switch.)

that means the previous owner had a hardtop.

I will be getting 2002 hardtop soon, do you think the switch is going to work?

It still lights up, if I press it.

I will be using 2002 mounting kit though.

Yup, the prev. owner must've had one at some point.

Good question on the switch though... I'd guess that you might have to play with this a little. Call the HT vendor and find out. Hardtopguy might be able to answer this off the top of his head... (try a PM)
