Hi,

as some of you might know, I'm from Germany. Although I can't have a look at my car right now (I am at work and its parked a few minutes away), I am pretty sure that my Silverstone silver '02 European model hasn't got that tape around the windscreen. I will have a look later to be sure. But it leaves me puzzled with the question why they use tape on the US model but not on the Eurpean (German) model ?!

I agree with most posters here that it is a matter of personal taste. Mine's yellow, and I think it looks great w/o the tape. Especially with the top down

Yep, EU & UK 02's don't have the windscreen tape but we get the chromed HIDS that I'm not too fond of... it is odd that the US market still has it and the older style headlights

My jury is still out on the tape removal, I love the look with the top down and with a hardtop on but with the softtop up the tape still works really well.

Hi again,

I have just checked my (EU-)windscreen. And there is absolutely no way I would want any black tape around it. That is with or without softtop up.

I'm going to keep the tape on for a year or so. Afterwards....I'll take it off for a new refreshing look!
