Default Upside down S2000

I have done a search on the topic of rolled S2000 cars, but can't find a photo of one that has landed upside down. I'd like to see how the car sits in that situation. I'd like to know how long the A pillar can hold the weight. I've read that the roll bars are strong.

I'm one of the drivers who likes to sit up straight and my head is as high as the roll bar when I do this. I've read mention of changed seat rails that lower the seats. Does anyone have more information on these or photos of these installed?

Here are a couple of Berlinas shown in a German web page. One or both have flipped. At least one of them appears to be a RHD, so the pics could be from Japan, or elsewhere -- the poster doesn't comment. Maybe the negs were reversed -- the five spoke wheels are probably not from Japan...

I believe that when you find the horizon starting to rotate, you will instinctively learn to do the "turtle".

I must admit that I've never felt good about the fact that a most important portion of my head is ABOVE the top of the rollbar. Therefore, every time I start the car I practice tucking. Just kidding. It is an interesting design though. Is my head being sacrificed for aesthetic reasons?

and afaik..the innate urge to "turtle" is most often upset by that old fart centrifugical force....that's why sprint car guys use arm restraints.....one extremity out the window during a rollover is often...well..out the window.

The A-pillar cannot and will not (and is not designed to) support the weight of the car.

The windshield collapses in a rollover and the car sits at a slight angle with the trunk lid in the air... Take a straight line from the top of the rollbar hoops to the front edge of the hood, and you will see how far the windshield will collapse.

Those sprint car guys have been known to have terrifying experiences. However, their scenarios are usually at the extreme end of roll over. In my work, I've gone to a few auto accidents, one of which stands out quite clearly in my mind. Although it was not a convertible, it was a 4 door sedan that had rolled over a couple of times, slid down the road a ways and ended right side up. The scene was absolutely unbelievable. There was nothing left of the car from the window sills up. Except for a badly bent windshield frame, everything else was sheared off - gone. In this wreckage, were the two occupants sitting straight up in the front seats with their heads well above the level of the bent windshield. They "turtled" during the episode. When they came to a rest, they sat up. Granted, their legs were still pinned by the collapsed dash and firewall but the tops of their bodies were relatively intact. They lived.
That's not to say you couldn't roll side over side down an embankment, in which case, you would be right, C.F. would get ya - maybe.

I flipped a MY00 S, thankfully it landed right side up. The A pillar had me pinned into the drivers seat (i'm 5'8") and the passenger got out ok by himself (he's 6'). Right side of my head/face had some abrasions and a small cut on the back of my head along with some serious soreness all over. My friend just got some bumps and bruises, he walked away from it and got help. I don't remember any of it. Driving along a road with a moderate bend...then a fireman cutting me out of the car. From what i was told, i spun out in the bend; the rear of the car hit a ditch; the car flipped end over end once; then rolled twice. Perfect day for driving, was returning from lunch. Don't know how fast i was going, but i'm sure i was hauling ass (first time that friend was in the car). He said he saw triple digits on the speedo (not bragging, i was stupid and we were very very lucky). The top was down as well.

Things i learned from it:

The car is not invincible
I am not a professional driver

Now i have a MY01 and pretty much drive like Mrs. Daisy
