Default Used '04 and '05 pricing

I may be in the market... again... for one of the finest roadsters ever built! Now that I live in sunny Cali, I really need a convertible... not to mention, all the road racing and canyon carving that's available here!

According to KBB, an '05 with 6k miles is $26~27.5K (good~excellent cond). What can I realistically expect to pay for an '05? Would $26.5 be a fair price... is it low, high? A new one can be had for around $30k including dest, right?

How much of a discount can I expect for an '04 of similar miles?

I am interested in GPW, and possibly Suzuka. Not sure if the changes to the '06 is worth paying new for, as I dont' know how long I'd be keeping it.

TIA...

PS. Feel free to post any good deals you see for any GPW/Suzuka '04/'05. Stock or modded is fine... mods that I'd want would be coilovers, nav (can't live without it)... i/e is fine, though I'm not sure how the strict cali laws dictate. FI may be ok, as long as it's reliable and carb'd. Thanks!

these cars have a good resale value, price is obviously reflected by the condition of the vehicle and milage but just offer what you think is fair, if they say no then go up or say no... ive seen a 2000 s2k from 15k to 25k so just look around and youll find a good deal. i dont think youll find a used 06 for a while... as far as if the 06 is better/worse its up to you. it has vehicle stability assist and if you havnt driven a rwd car before or feel you need it then go for the 06. I think the 06 will make more of a practical daily driver for some people but wont be as fun on the track or canyon.

I think for an '04, you can get them even in the $23k range (depending on the mileage/condition). For an '05, I'd just spend the extra couple of grand and get a new one. Dealers are getting desparate as winter's coming around. I've heard of a couple of people getting it for $30k INCLUDING TTL. Good luck with the search.

$30k including ttl is a great deal... can I get that around SoCal? An used '05 would have to be mint and under $27k to even start to make sense then...

MY05 for $26-$27.5K sounds reasonable to me.
I'd like to see MY04's at about $23-$24K if I was a buyer.

sorry, but that is a THROWAWAY price. Unless you find an S2000 that has been sitting in a used car lot for 90days or more, you cannot expect to get a deal like that. $25K is doable, but $23K is what a dealer would offer on a low-ball trade-in.

You're also in FL. $23k on an '04 is not unheard of, although rare.

Yes, you can get that price in Socal.

I drove up to Westminster last October and got my 05 for $30500 at honda world.
This is their web site http://www.ochondaworld.com/
Mat Piercey was referred to me by someone on S2KI and I've got to say, not regrets.
He gave me a fair trade on my Z (at least much better than what I could get in SD) and there was no haggling over the price. He told me how much he'd give it to me for on the phone and there were no surprises when I got there. Great dealership. I plan on talking to them when it's time to do the Comptech SC instal.

Give them a call, you won't regret it. Tell him someone from S2KI referred you, he gets lots of business from us.

Good luck.

Is that INCLUDING TTL (tax, tag, and title)?!?!?

That makes a big differance.

If it is I 'd say you got an AWESOME deal!
