Default Used 2004 S2000 Prices on KBB.com

I was checking KBB.com for a used S2000 2004 in EXCELLENT condition at 26,000miles and it goes for $23,490. when you buy from private party..

I've seen s2000's on autotrader and cars.com go for $25,900 and above.

Is this an error or are all the s2000's that are priced at this price being all bought.?

KBB.com (used 2004 s2000 price from private party)

Consumer Rated Condition: Excellent
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.

Private Party Value Search Local Listings for This Car $23,490
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

As long as current owners trying to sell thier cars don't start believing it and let them go for that price

I had to get rid of a 4-runner last year that for some odd reason over the course of 9 months dropped in price more than $7-8k (just because of market value, not because of vehicle itself). It's too easy to get a new car these days so used ones are getting cheaper and cheaper.

It is sad to see such a big drop in price as far as resale is concerned. Perhaps this issue has already been discussed and beaten to death but it is good for the consumers who are trying to buy a used S2K.

keep in mind that 26000 miles is on the high side too...at least that seems high to me...so that probably figures into the price as well.

but then again my '04 only has 6800 miles on it - so 4 times that seems really high by comparison!

its a real shitty mkt if you are selling. this is why i'll never buy another new car unless i start pulling in 250k+ a year.

if you think s2k's lose value fast, check out highend bimmers, benzes & porsches!

I find KBB to be on the low side on a couple of different cars that I researched. With that said, 26,000 miles is ALOT for a 2004. I would be reluctant to buy it just for that reason. Low mileage (less than 9K miles) MY04 in excellent condition should go for around $26-27,000.

Or at least that has been my experience from participating in several auctions and making several offers.
