Default Using the s2k to its potential

I finally got my 2005 S2000 out of the shop. (I bought it with damage to the axle and front left fender).
The car has 128,000 miles

Now my question is, is it okay to rev over 4,000 on an S2000 with that many miles?
I realize that revving below 4k saves gas, and revving above 4k is for fun. The previous owner somewhat took care of the S2000, but I don't think he fully took care of it.

Edit:
It looks like people took this thread a different way then what I was thinking. I just wanted to post this, to ask if I could use my S2k for what it should be with the mileage it has.

Your profile signature says, "Rev it hard until it breaks, then fix it."

Couldn't resist

I just bought an s2000 recently as well but if I wasn't planning on revving past 4k I wouldn't have even considered buying the car...

This question IMO is a waste.

If you have concerns regarding the vehicle's mechanical condition, consult an expert. Or just redline it, and then consult an expert if anything happens.

Sure, it's easy to develop an emotional relationship with an inanimate car, but in the end, nothing last forever.

My advice is make sure your oil level stays topped up, properly warm up the car then drive it as you wish.

Revving it to 4k is only half of what your S can do!

I can appreciate that you're trying to baby your new baby, but have you actually driven an s2k below 4k for a while? It feels like a glorified Civic before that point; ~5k is when the car is just starting to come alive! Drive it the way it was meant to be driven. Shigeru Uehara would be very disappointed in this thread.

You can't even reach highway speeds if you don't exceed 4000 RPMs even in sixth gear. If you up shift much lower than 4k you could lug the engine.

Your gut might tell you that high RPMs is abusive, but there's compelling evidence to the contrary. Oil film thickness increases with RPMs, so constantly driving at lower engine speeds is harder on your engine especially with a well balanced engine like ours. I have several times more miles than you and I never stay below 4000 RPMs.

Driving an S2000 below 4k is like driving a Civic. What does 4k have to do with anything? The S is pretty sluggish at anything below 6k. You really have to rev it to the redline to enjoy the good stuff.
