Default V6 in an S2000 (S3500)

Will the Acura 3.5 liter engine from the Type S fit in a S2000? THat woud be one hell of a machine.

Doubt it very much, justin the simple fact that the S2000 is RWD and has an engine that is mounted like it is rwd (no other Honda has it)

Not to split hairs but the CL and TL type-S come with a 3.2 liter engine.

But the RL and MDX have a 3.5, for what it's worth.

The 3.2 Type S motor is 260 hp and probably weighs 50-75% more then the F20C. Although it obviously has more torque. Also, the 3.2 engine spins the "wrong" way.

if you do the swap make sure you know how to drive in reverse since i think you will have 5 speeds going backwards!

Weight distribution would be about 65/35; not too good for optimal handling. even if you could reverse the direction of rotation.

Funny you mention a 6 cylinder. There's a guy on the new Z car board that is telling people that the S2000 is discontinued for sure and that the 2002/2003 S2000 will be a 6 cylinder 4dr sedan. I don't think he knows what he talking about, but anyone heard anything about a 4dr 6 cylinder? These are the 4 postings he made in that thread.

The only new Civic I know about is a 4 cylinder "Insight" setup coming in 2003 or 2004.

By the way, if you get a chance to drive the automatic Insight, take it, it's hilarious. It has "Auto Stop". When you come up to a stop and apply the brake and stay on the brake --- the engine stops --- shuts off! Just like you stalled the engine in gear! Then when you release the brake, the engine starts and you can go!

If you were to drop a Type- S in you could just rotate the axle to create foward movement. I saw it done on junkyard wars.
