I'm not sure how anyone can be so incredibly stupid. That 6 cylinder 4 door sedan wouldn't replace the S2000, it'd replace the RL (most likely). People like JmanZ (the poster) are the type who ruin forums by posting inane crap like this...

Regarding the 3.2, you could get it to spin the right way but it'd require some work (ECU, cam shaft, crank, etc). And it'd sorta demean the spirit of the car anyway.

If somebody was going to drop in a 6 cylinder for the hell of it. I think the current M3 motor would be the way to go. Closer to the same personality with just an increase in torque.

Having said that why somebody would want to do that is a little beyond me.

This photoshopped "4-door" has been around for a long time, and is quite bogus, I'm sure.

Don't forget that it would throw off the balance of the car entirely...

Fine for Junkyard wars, but the differential is designed primarily for forward motion. As soon as you flip it you are effectively running the main gear in reverse the whole time. Won't last long.

I've been watching he SSM/SSX/S2000 scene for 5 years now. the S2000 was marketed, talked about and rumored to be a 2 year model distribution. In fact, It was designed to have an inline 5 cylinder engine but that did not make production. Every source that came out until almost this year said it was going to be a 2 year model run, a 50th anniversary limited production F1 like street car from the beginning. Logic asks you why Honda would spend 10's of millions of dollars on a design then only release 20K world wide a year.

Hmmmm, I've heard it 'talked about', and 'rumoured', but officially marketed? Who by? Do you actually have anything on paper from Honda (and no, I don't meam a dealer or even AHM, I mean Honda, as in that company in Japan). I highly doubt it.

Which just shows how much things change, and how fluid rumours and marketing are.

Stuffing huge motors in small cars has been happening for years...

Ever hear the story about the small, brittish, underpowered roadster that yearned for a V8?

Or Monster Miata's?

With a few notable exceptions, attempts to stuff a large motor in a small car results in a car that goes fast, but handles less well and spews coolant on hot days...
