I had this in 'Under the hood'', but got no answers so I thought I would try here.
What is the difference between a V1 and V2 VAFC, other then the price? Will any VAFC work with the S or does it need to be specifically for the S?

Well the VAFC2 has the knob instead of the buttons of the VAFC1 and I think it can tune in smaller increments. VAFC1 is normally silver/blue and the 2 is black/green, I have one in my prelude but never used one for the s2k, I assume it works the same as long as you splice into the ECU correctly or use the correct harness.

 

i had the same question, posted here, hopefully it helps a LIL... (i know, it doesn't help much at all but.. )

 

Any VAFC (1 or 2)will work with the S, either V1 or V2 and it does not have to be specific to the S2000, they are all universal units.

The V2 has more tuning points then the V1.

 

also, the frog harnesses for vafc v1 and v2 are NOT compatible
