Default Valet mode....?

Hey guys, i realize this probably sounds really dumb, but i was on another message board, the s2000 atlanta one, and i saw a few people talking about a valet mode on their cars. I didnt even know we had one. If we do, how do you set it and that kinda thing?

Your other key is the valet key. If you lock your storage compartment it will not allow it to be unlocked and deny acess to the truck. Obviously you do not give them your electronic door opener

I know that lol, but on that message board they were talking about a rev limiter, like with the valet key they were talking about limiting the rpms to 5000, so the valet guy couldnt take it past that. How do you do that, if its possible?

I've heard of that on the Audi A4s with an aftermarket chip. It has a mode that won't let the car go above 40 mph. Don't know if there's such a thing for the S2000 though.

Well, it's possible they were talking about Valet mode on the factory alarm. It is nothing special, just disables the alarm so you can give your car to a valet.

Modifry makes a module that reads the RPM from a tach signal wire then chirps at you as a shift warning, it can also be set to alert at a lower RPM and trigger a louder alarm. He refers to this as Valet mode and if someone revs your car up, it will sound a buzzer that will scare the crap out of someone and be a deterrant to going over that RPM range again.

One of the So Fla members (S2kSuzuka) has that in his car and loves it.

See Modifry's Digital Redline Shift Warning Beeper. His original setup included the ability to set the beeper or an optional siren to go off at a certain rpm (you choose). It also has a max rpm memory, so you can see how high they revved the car.
