Default Value of 2001 S2000

What is the going value of a 2001 S2000 with 6100 miles. I've had the car for just short of a year and a half. It is stored in the garage at all times. It has never been out in bad weather. It is in mint condition. The color is Black on Black.
please responde with any other questions you may have.

Varies around the country but I'd say a private party sale would yield $25-28k. A trade in $21-24k.

I think you can easily get 29000.00
possibly more.

A bit low there.... My crashed 01 Spa Yellow with 17359 on the OD got 27,500 as a trade-in.

You can easily sell it for 27-29K or get 26-28K as a trade-in.

$21K-$24K trade in on a 2001???

That's really low. Every guidebook and even the classifieds in my area (which isn't SoCal) has 2001s asking about $29K to $31K. Yeah, there might be a new 2002 somewhere, but it's in the peak season and Honda's starting to run out of them, so prices are high right now. People are putting deposits on 2003 for Winter/Early Spring delivery. Many people would rather buy a nice used car, save a couple grand and enjoy the car now rather than wait and pay more.

For a mint-condition garage queen, I'd start with $30K for private party, $28K for trade-in and work from there.

I've noticed that the last place you ever want to sell an S2000 is on this board. The people here are too well-informed.

I was offered $30,000 Trade-In (first week of June '02) at the Toyota Dealership on a brand new Toyota 4WD Ex-Cab (SR-5 Auto) bedliner, factory side bars, and bed extender. If I liked the truck (which I didn't), they were going to cut me a check for $4,500 to go along with the new truck. The #'s were great, but the Truck wasn't... IMO. I get alot of ooh's & ahh's in Tennessee when I have the car out. No chips, dings or dents.... the little rubber flaps in front of the front tires aren't even scratched. "Still in the wrapper, brand new" is how a salesman described it. For the right price, this one's for sale though..... Kevin - - - p.s. (5,700 miles/garage queen )

It's fruitless to discuss trade-ins because the trade-in price is completely dependent on the type of deal you get on the car that is being bought.

It is much more valuable to know the details of a completed "cash" transaction.
