Value of this set up?

The oil starvation issue of the 2000 S2000 2.0 liter engine is almost famous at this point.

Oil pressure gauges are not oil level gauges, and it is the owners responsibility to keep the oil topped up. Failure to do so is as abusive as shifting into second gear and dropping the clutch while traveling at tripple digit speeds.
Threads on S2kI are often very misleading, so if you have some broader statistics to support your claim (JD Power is an excellent source) I'd appreciate it if you would enlighten me.
Getting back on topic, in my experience it is always harder to sell a car that has been modified in any way. As long as you are not in any hurry to sell you can usually get a fair price for a modded car, but you have to be patient enough to wait for just the right buyer. Most people will look at the modded car and realize that they will have the same problems selling it that you're apt to have (ie: finding an interested buyer) and they'll want to take that into consideration when they agree on a purchase price.Because you're dealing with an S2000 and because people prefer various MY's and combinations of MY bits and pieces (mix and match
) it might be a lot easier to find a buyer than it would be with most other cars. I really don't know for sure, but if I were you I'd decide what I wanted for the car and then hold out until I found someone who wanted to pay me what I wanted. What are you doing about the dash (9k redline while engine has 8k redline) and the ECU? Are you keeping the old ECU, dash, and redline? If so ...
...
Y'all, this is off topic, but hopefully not too unrelated and worth a chuckle. Although it involves a woman I'll say up front that we men do at least as many stupid things with cars as the women do, but this one incident just happend to involve an attractive young woman.
The woman brought her Toyota over to a friends house because she wanted him to find out why it was making "funny noises." The car had over 100,000 miles on it, and I'm thinking it was over 150k (it was a long time ago and I don't really remember, but the mileage was way up there). When she pulled in the driveway we could clearly hear a rod knocking. MAJOR knock. After the engine was shut off and the oil had time to drain back down into the crankcase my buddy pulled the dipstick to check the level, and instead of oil, there was just a little blob of gummy black goop on the tip of the dipstick. He asked her how often she had her oil changed, and the girl didn't have a clue what he was talking about. Apparently the car was still running on the same oil that had been put in at the factory. I think she had driven the car with the oil pressure light on until the bulb burned out.

My type!

Dumb women don't appeal to me that much, even if they are attractive physically.
Xclusive is right on. Get off your high horse man...he was trying to help by offering his opinion, which is what you asked for.
You cannot just say "well the car books at 16k and I have 5k worst of parts into it so the value is 21k". Granted, a car is worth what ever someone is willing to pay, but I doubt you will get more than 14 or 15k out of it, tops.
Why? You've limited yourself to a non-existent niche buyer (at 20K or whatever).
Typical car guys dont want a car thats already been F'ed with by someone else who may or may not know what they're doing. Typical non-car-people just want a sporty looking civic with a warranty from a dealership.
Bottom Line: There are enough S2000's that havent been Frankensteined that there is no reason to buy yours at a normal price like 20k or whatever. Start dropping the price and someone will suck it up and buy it off you...
Let us know what you end up selling it for!
