I've had the Coastal Metals front grille for about two years, and it's a real quality piece, but I was never sure I liked the black edge trim. Yesterday I thought I'd try a new way to trim the grille. I haven't quite decided yet to keep this or change back, but I thought those who have the Coastal Metal grille might want to see this. Here are some photos:

Here's what it looked like before:

Pretty good look, at least for the Silver colors.

If I were to put a grille on my Red S2000, I'd go all black.

I agree, Tedster. I think it would only work on silver and maybe Suzuka blue.

From up close. it does emphasize the fact that the grille does not fit the opening perfectly, especially around the corners.

No kit, but I did post very detailed directions on how to do the mod. You should be able to find it with a search.

Nice job Rick...I to have been debating on whether I like the outer rubber black part of the coastal metals grill. I like this option. Good idea...I might try it. In regards to the small gaps in space around the outer part of the grill where you can see paint. Do these spots look worse or better then they did with the black. I was thinking that the metalic look would help it to blend in and you would notice less but it sounds like from your above post that it is more noticeable now...is this true?

Peace!

Rick, I would say that the black trim is a way better look. The black trim makes those little spaces a non issue.
