Default Verification Requested on Authenticity of S2000 Antenna

Bought a factory OEM Honda (or so I thought) S2000 antenna off of eBay from a Honda dealership. It's the factory part number for the antenna, and had the authentic red Honda sticker that said 'Made in Japan'

Received the antenna today, and noticed that there a small white decal on the antenna itself that states 'Made in China' followed by a 'C001CN' (I googled that and didn't find much.)
Is Honda now getting parts made for this car from China? I feel a little misled as I didn't see that the made in China decal in the original listing.

I usually buy my parts off Majestic for literally this reason alone, but I decided to roll the dice as it seemed like authentic, and again, sold by a Honda dealer.

Any advice would be appreciated before I initiate a return. Thanks

Never seen clear packaging on Honda parts. All I've seen are translucent. ??

Sticker on bag says made in Japan. Sticker on part says made in China. Already suspicious.

Its amazing the small market stuff they will copy in China.

Also suspect is the method of sealing the bag. I smell a phony.
However, plug it in a see if it works. It may work fine but I bet in a few years the plastic degrades.

Thanks for your responses. Afzan and Car Analogy, those were my thoughts exactly. Why spend time in making a replica part for something in such low demand.
The hilarity is, if these guys didn't put the made in China decal on, I certainly wouldn't have noticed, and wouldn't think twice if it mounted up fine to the base.

In any case, the return has been started. Thanks again.

I wouldn't worry too much about it - but it is probably a replica... if it works then there you go.

This is likely a fakey.

But...yeah, a LOT of the parts on this car were manufactured in China. Just like literally any other car in the world.

"Made in Japan" usually just means the end assembly or processing was done in Japan.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn the antenna that came on the car was made in China.

Hard to tell for sure from those pics but it looks like an oem antenna to me
These were higher in demand for a long time. Maybe not so much now. They fit lots of cars and people used to buy them (and many stole them off of S2k's) to put on other cars to replace the long factory antennas on many of them. So I would bet someone probably still sells knockoffs.

Not to mention they bend over time and look droopy. LOL
