Default Very alarming problem in the S...

Catchy title to catch your attention, but the problem has to do with car alarm...

Just had an auto shop install a car alarm on my S, but they couldn't find the auto door-lock wire, and so they couldn't install the keyless entry, which opens or locks when the alarm is armed or disarmed.

Has anyone else had this problem? I thought all S2K's were supposed to have the keyless entry module in them already. The shop said my car didn't have one, so they couldn't find the wire to hook it up to the alarm. When I looked at the features of my car, keyless entry was listed as one of them, so there is supposed to be a pre-existing module. If you could advise me on this, please help! I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Same thing happened to me when I had car alarm installed, guy didn't know where to hook it up and said that it was part of ecu and needed an extra part to make it work(module maybe)??? They told me to come back but I didn't want them messing with ECU so I never did. I have oem remote that opens the door and remote for alarm.

The guy from Circuit city who installed my Viper alarm did mention that the power door lock on the S2k was different from the other Hondas. It took him longer, but he didn't have any problem installing the alarm or the remote trunk release.

My installer had no problem with this, so I think they're feeding you bull or just don't know how to do it.

Talk to Macgyver as he intsalled his alarm (and mine too soon) with-out and problems... everything works ie trunk, door locks, eveything... I beleive the keyless entry modulur is located just above your left knee when sitting in the car (but again Macgyver knows best )

the installer is pulling your leg as there is no need to do anything to the ecu for the door locks

hence i'm glad i live in the vincity of Macgyver as i wouldn't let anyone else touch my baby cause most have no freeken idea..

i'll agree with everyone else, the installer is wrong. I have an aftermarket alarm and my door locks and remote trunk still work perfectly

What is the secret to getting the remote trunk to operate?

I have always had to use the key.
