Default Very Excited! Renting an S2k Tomorrow!

Hey Guys!
So I've got 6 weeks to wait for my 2002 blk/blk to come arrive here in SoCal, and I figured what better way to spend a Saturday then behind the wheel of one.. No, it won't be mine but that's okay.
I called a few rental places here in LA and was able to rent one for the day tomorrow. Can't wait! It'll be my first time spending a good amount of time behind the wheel of one. A buddy at work let me take his for a little spin a few weeks ago, which btw was much appreciated. But I want an ENTIRE day!

So if you see a Suzuka Blue driving around tomorrow and the guy behind the wheel has a big ole grin on his face, you'll know it's me...

Oh, and if anyone wants to go for a drive or meet up, let me know!

Check the oil before you fire it up! Sure, it's only a rental but wouldn't be embarassing to have it come back on a trailer? And tire pressures so you get the full meal deal. Nothing like an improperly inflated tire to make your drive "squirmy" and unpleasant. OK, let 'er riiiip!

anim8: Who are you renting from, and how much will it cost? If it's not too much, I think this sounds like a better idea for me than a test drive.

The place is called Beverly Hills Rent A Car...(310) 337-1400.
I was going to go with Budget, but I couldn't get one on a weekend until the end of the month.. These guys had one avail. this weekend.
The cost was $195 for the day. Oh, and you only get 50 miles! Doh! Then it's 50cents each add. mile.
Steep yes, but it'll be worth it! Pray that it doesn't rain tomorrow here in LA .....

I've given the "rent-a-sports-car" thing some thought and it would be cool if:

1) Pick up the car and drive it onto a trailer (round the corner from the rental place).
2) Arrive at your favorite track (Willow Springs, Thunder Hill, Laguna Seca).
3) Drive like hell for 50 miles on the track! (or more if you don't mind spending $0.50/mile)
4) Return the car with minimal milage but minus a day of maximum fun .

OMG!!!!
This has been the best day I've had in a LOOONG time!
This car is AMAZING! You guys are so lucky to have one. I don't want to have to give it back tomorrow morning..haha.. Already put on 100 miles and i have the car until tomorrow morning! I'm well past my free 50 miles.. Haha.. I planned on driving it 150 miles and it'll cost me about $230. But, I am now more than convinced this is the car for me. I'm in love........

p.s. The owner of the rental place told me that he's going to discontinue the rental of the S2k. He said the cars just get abused. I guess he has 3 total and 2 of them have been in the shop for 3 weeks. He said he's gone through way to many clutches and tires and it's just to much of a hassle to keep renting. Oh well...???

I'm all smiles today!

Haha! I was actually in that area at around 4pm.. Dropped my buddy off at his place in Playa and came back down the hill and jumped onto the 90E, 405N... But my top was down the entire day!
The S2k Gods were kind to us today here in LA.. Beautiful driving weather..
