Very quick question
I suggested to her to wait for my mother to get off since she has a 4x4 truck. But she stubborn! Im only suggesting turning off traction control for the few hills she has to climb. Doesnt she stand a better chance of getting up the hill without traction control? The car going to sense the difference of speed between the two sets of wheels, and will not accelerate.
The S has about as much traction in the snow on stock tires as a hockey puck has on ice.
Even if you get moving, you won't stop or turn reliably.
Forget getting up the hill, what about stopping going down the hill?

You need to turn VSA off if you need to spin the wheels to get the car moving.
If you need to spin the wheels to get moving, you shouldn't be driving on those tires in the snow.

Can you turn traction control back on once it is off, with out having to turn off the car? Fortunatly the few hills she does have to go up, level off once on top.

Yes, its a button, but the problem isn't the car. The tires have no traction, so you can turn off TC for acceleration and get spin to move the car, but TC will do nothing to modulate the brakes when the tires slide over the ice. That's what ABS is for.
Thanks you all for your help and concerns. Ill try to talk some sense into my sister.

JK! glad she made it home safe
