I have a new rattle today.......it just appeared.

Decelerating in second gear, no throttle, there appears to be a rattle which is demonstrating itself as a vibration in the dash. If I bang the middle of the top of the dash above the radio (on top of the dash though), I can hear something rattling.

It's driving me nuts!

Any ideas?

Check your rear view mirror mounting bracket. Mine used to rattle!!

Let me know what you find.

I had the same problem, and found it was RPM dependant. When I was at 4,000 rpm or about 7,500 I would hear it. I took a Honda technician out to hear the noise, and he definitely heard it.

Unfortunately, there was no fix for it. Honda said it was just a trait of the car. I've "trained" myself to not hear it, but if you find a fix let me know.

I had a rattle that I thought came from the mirror bracket - couldn't find where it was coming from so I finally took it in - my dealership played around and insulated the passenger side airbag cover and presto - no more noise!

I was stunned! Dealerships can never here the same noises that you do, let alone fix them!
