Default Victim or Fanatic?

I've been watching this site practically everyday and decided to do my first post. Not for any other reason other than lack of computer skills. I've had my S2000 since Jan 2001 and there has been one question bugging me all this time.
Here goes......Am I the only one who paid a 5k premium on top of sticker for their car and if not, was I the last one to do it????
I really enjoy this site and has helped me do the few mods that I've done to my car.

hello and welcome...
many others and myself have paid sticker, few paid below, very few paid more...
depending on what dealer you went to, and your haggling techniques...
sorry to hear you paid so much...
but i guess it doesn't matter now,
all that matters is that you have an amazing piece of machinery!

When I purchased my first S2000, the '00 Berlina Black with Red, I paid a $6k premium and SMILED PROFUSELY!!!

Of course, at that time, it was impossible to find any under $40k. . .

When I traded and purchased my '02, I paid sticker and SMILED PROFUSELY!!!

You are both a victim and a fanatic. Unfortunately, it's a little more difficult to get an S2000 at MSRP in the Bay Area. You have to go outside the area to get a better deal.

Not that it helps now but check: https://www.s2ki.com/library/dealers/index.php$session[sessionhash]

Thanks for the response guys. I guess that when I saw that yellow for the first time, I just said that I had to have the car. Don't get me wrong, I love the car and I don't have any regrets.

I too am paying a little over MSRP for yellow. It seems to cost more. I got every other color down to sticker. Southern Cal dealers generally wont go below MSRP.

i paid 29.3k dollars for my 01 S Silver/Red with 3.8k miles on ODO, with Front/Rear spoiler.
i bought it back in Oct 01'. I truly believe i got an awesome deal especially for being in the Bay Area. The dealer originally was asking 31k dollars for the car. I haggled him till i cant haggle him no more. I even left the dealership and i called him back to make this deal.

I think that you are forgetting that it used to be close to impossible to get an S2000 for MSRP. Today, it is fairly easy if you shop around enough...a year ago, 2 years ago, nearly impossible. Do a search and read the old threads on pricing.

There was a pretty large poll about how much people paid, I'm still trying to find it.

Edit:

Here's a post about what people paid...still looking for the poll

Edit #2:

Here's one poll
