I'm driving on market / portola St. in SF yesterday, and i come to a stop at a red light on a downhill. A car stops next to me on the right lane, and i look in my Rear view mirror and i see a viper FLYING down this road at a good 50-70 yds. Oh crap i think, i didn't think he was going to stop. He lays on his brakes, and the tires start to squeel and he skids towards my car.a
With no one around, i throw the car into gear to get the heck out of there, but i panicked off the clutch and stalled. DOH!!!!!! with the last second i brace myself, roll foward on the downhill as much as i can, and hear and smell the rubber burn behind me. As the cloud of smoke settled, he managed to stop inches away from slamming into me.

I tell my mother what happened - her rational - "he's probably high on pot" - my mother is so right out of almost famous. (marijuana being the reason for all mistakes in the world - not people driving sports cars beyond their limits on city streets)

 

What an idiot ...

Good for you for being aware of your environment and what is going on around you!!!
I always keep an eye in my rear view mirror when I am at a stop. This is a basic survival skill on the motorcycle.
