Voted for the S...

Well, after reading the posts, I am relieved to see that S2000 voters do not do much trash talk.

EVO voters seem to be the most desperate. How insecure are these people? Their posts are full of hate, ignorance, grammatical and logical errors... Wow... I'll be extra cautious when I see one...

The evo owners have now turned to turning off their cookies or whatever so they can vote as many times as they want hahah.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I was going to trade my s2k for an evo that was worth way more $ in KBB value but despite loving the car and its capabilities, could not get over the negative image associated with that car... especially in Southern California. I gave it a chance by checking out the evo forums and they pretty much reinforced that image to the n-th degree.

Conclusion: Still love the evo, but will most likely never own one.

Oh and yes I voted for the s2000. I wanted to pick the NSX, Skyline, or Z series but they are already too far behind. So support for the S it is!

Not hating on the evo since I do like them a lot, but it's funny. The people on the evo forum in that thread keep saying the same things why the evo is so much better than the S. This is a best SPORTS car poll. The reason the S2000 sucks is becuase it is small, doesn;t have back seats, not awd, gotta rev it high, not muc trunk space lol. Basically everything that defines a sports car is what is bad about it to the evo crowd lol.
I guess they don't get the part that it is no best CAR but best SPORTS CAR poll.

I like both the S and the Evo a lot, but you can't really blame them, even if the evo is less of a 'sports car.' I mean anyone would logically vote for their own car, heck, the polls would look the same if it was 'Ford's vote for the best pickup truck' and both forums got a hold of it. People are just legitimizing their purchases.
The polls never said take $$ in to account, and I think its implied we aren't supposed to (wide spread of value, nothing to address that). That being said, this is down to just a loyalty question. If it were a poll of random unaffiliated but knowledgeable individuals, it wouldn't look like this, heh.
I mean I voted for the S to further validate my purchase. I would pick the skyline or nsx if it was 'pick the best' flat out, but I'd like to consider my funds.
Anyway, truth be told, if this gets out on a Miata forum, we all lose anyway

Yes, maybe the poll results will not indicate "the best Japanese sports car", but will be an indication of the sports car with the most following. But then again, what does "Best" mean? It is what people think it is. Then the S2000 might as well be the best Japanese sports car on that list...
