There's a couple posts in the last month or so that talked about it.

If you have VSA on, it will kick in before your butt needs saving.

Here's how to try it: Go to a more open area, stop, turn wheel to the right or left, floor it. Then:
VSA on = will keep you in check
VSA off = you spin around

I've had VSA kick in and save my ass in my 06 G35 coupe. That car is so heavy, and consequently looooves to slide around. It kept me from sliding into a pole

havent had VSA save me. coming from an ap1, i've become familiar with the tail happy characteristics of the S. however, i have had moments where i've taken turns at decent speeds, where the VSA kicked in very aggresively and it was pretty embarrassing. to others, it probably looked like i slammed on the brakes coming outta the turn.

it will cut power to the engine for a brief second so the car can straighten out. thats on a mild VSA engagement. now, if you push it enough, the rear brakes will grab just a bit, enough to aid the engine in getting the car straight. if you get into a very mild slide, VSA is actually a nice thing, you can almost be careless/lazy about correcting, but if its too much of a slide, VSA will own you.

also, with VSA on and engaged you will see the "!" start to flash on the dash(sorta like gran turismo, if you have ever played it )
