Default VTEC engagement point

This might not be the right forum but I thought I should ask anywayz

I find myself out of the VTEC zone quite a bit in my ap2 s2k on the track and I kinda want the VTEC zone to go from 5000-8000 instead of 6000-8200.....are there any repercussions with doing this?

Any help appreciated,

John

The only possible repercussions would be if you lower the VTEC point and end up losing power. In stock form, the VTEC engagement point is almost perfect and until you start mod'n the car you don't want to mess with it.

You have an MY06 S2000 now? If so, how were you planning on lowering your VTEC engagement point?

Hondata is working on a reflash for the 06 ECU's (which are now flashable for the first time in the S2000's history). Now don't go calling and asking, they will post it on their website when it's ready. Think of it this way, the more you leave them alone, the quicker things get done.

With a stock car you won't want to change the VTEC point by more than ~300 .

I believe you are referring to a VAFC. I don't believe the current model(s) is(are) compatible with the MY06.
