When I took delivery they told me that if you go beyond a certain number of failed tries, even the dealer will be unable to unlock it. Maybe if you disconnect power after 2 failed tries you avoid that.

Then again it wouldn't be the first time the dealer was wrong.

The radio will only remain locked temporarily. If you enter the incorrect code, you can disconnect the battery again, and you can start over.

To reset ECU pull fuse in drivers footwell marked "Back-Up"
(third slot down on the right column, the 7.5 Amp fuse right under a 15 Amp and right above another 7.5 Amp)

Dropped by Weseloh to ask them to help find this irritating little (nee nee nee) squeak from the front right, and asked him about the magic they worked on my car during the TSB fix which made it quicker. I asked him if they disconnected the battery. He said, yes, yes, they did. I asked could the ECU have reset, is that why it felt so much quicker. No, he said, it was probably because they washed it.

Shoot! I asked them not to wash my car at Weseloh. If I'd only known, I'd have gained a bunch of horsepower by just letting them wash my car! Who needs a SC?

Have driven more over the weekend - it has gone!

I will try the fuse thing to see if the ECU thing makes a difference otherwise I guess it's back to the dealer.

For those that want to know where the MAP sensor is, take a look at this post and the picture that Knowledge put up.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=19256

He has circled the MAP sensor.

As far as resetting the ECU, I wouldn't disconnect the battery, I'd just pull the fuse. Look at RT's post to see which fuse to pull.
