Do you guys wait for the redline to blink before you shift. I have found that my
S shifts like butta if i wait for the redline light to blink right before fuel gets cut off to the engine.

its seems like my engine is reving past 9K. maybe 9200RPM.

When wanting to extract fullest power I do usually try and wait for the blinking. 9200 is right at the fuel cutoff so you're right.

I wait for about 2 to 3 blink but watch out with first gear it comes up real quick.

Thats to high that why it is red, try to shift right before redline. Look at a dyno graph and you will see where the power starts to fall off.

the power does seem to drop around 8800 however, revving it until it starts to blink then shifting 9100-9200 puts you higher up in the rpm range in the next gear (more power)

That's correct. Despite the drop in HP after 8800, you will still have a bit more power up to 9200 than you would in the next gear if you would have shifted at 8900.

You don't have to rev all the way into redline to remain in power band. Quick shifts just under redline will still leave you in the vtec on upshifts. That blinking over 9000 rpm is actually ECU telling you: "Don't do it, it is your ass paying for damage due to over revving"!!

It's a soft fuel cutoff which prevents overrevving during acceleration. It's there for a reason. Just don't sit there at the light, bouncing off the cutoff like in F1 or IRL.
