Four days in the shop (my first visit at 4K miles) and the techs found my oil leak. Check above your oil filter. There you will find a solenoid sticking out of the head at the passenger front corner (near the area where some "porous block" failures occurred). This is the device that actuates the VTEC mechanism. An o-ring seal failure here may have been the cause of my sluggish VTEC engagement. I don't know for sure but it is suspect. At any rate it feels stronger now.
My dealer's service department hasn't logged much shop time on the S2K yet but once past the service writers' desk the shop tech was eager to copy all of the S2000 websites and forums I could think of. He had not heard of most of the tech bulletins I mentioned and they were not yet aware of the seatbelt recall.
