Default Wait until winter?

I've been going back and forth about buying an s2000 for the last 4 years. I'm finally ready to jump in, but something tells me that this is the wrong time of year. Have the prices shot up over the past year or is it my imagination? I've even seen the dealers near here list an S2000, then 2 days later tack $3k on the price! What?

I know KBB prices are not "gospel", but they have the retail price for a 2001 with 45k miles on it as $22k! What?

I'm in Florida, so top-down weather is coming to an end until fall. I would think that our local prices would be dropping now, not going up. I'm in no hurry, and really want to get the best deal possible.

Any real advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike M.

I would think the seasonal price changes in Florida don't change as much as in the colder regions.
Get one now and enjoy the summer.

S2000's get slightly more scarce and slightly more sought after every month.

Don't take the summer off, use it as part of your long, patient search for the right one.

Used prices are up but it's still a good deal compared to what is available new. I don't think seasonal prices are really going to change much at all anymore. KBB prices are a little out of control and Edmunds is really low, just find a compromise. I recently paid $22k for a 06 GPW with 14k miles, just be patient but when the right one comes along you need to be ready to jump on it.

Prices don't change in Florida. These cars actually seem to increase in price little by little every year. Most of the dealerships out here seem to know that the S will sell, so they can ask whatever they want. Patience is the only way to get a good deal.

Everyday another S is either totaled or modded so horribly that it should be totaled. The price of these cars is going to rise as time goes on imo.

Keep searching throughout the season.

Buy it before you die man. Seriously, life is too short to wait to save a little coin, if you can.

Try timing the stock market instead

Thanks guys. Good advice.
I'm not impulsive, but I've waited long enough. I need to dig up the picture of me at the Tampa auto show sitting behind the wheel of an S2000 in 1999. Ever since that day I've wanted one. Now I have one

It's a 2008 with 53k miles on it, and nearly mint. Just picked it up yesterday. And it only took 14 years!
Driving it in to work this morning it still didn't feel real. What an amazing car.

Thanks again for the feedback.
