Hi All. I went and secured my Silver and black S2000 on Monday. The dealer says it will be 7 - 10 days before it comes in. I can't stand the wait.

I would just like to say Hi to all the members here and look forward to future postings on this board.

Welcome aboard!
I waited almost 1 month before I took mine home!
Just remember to follow the break-in procedures!
Then the real fun begins!

I know it's hard but count your blessings that's all you have to wait. Many owners on this board waited months to take delivery of their car.

Well I hope I don't have to wait months. The dealer claims it should be 7 - 10 days from Monday. They said it is on a boat from Japan. It wouldn't suprise me if it took longer but I do feel lucky that I have secured one as a lot of dealers I called couldn't get any in!

Talk about waiting! I've been waiting since Aug 99!!! Tied up in a lease!!! But it's up very soon! So I'll be ordering my W/R 01 next week! Then the nailbiting begins until July/Aug when she arrives!!! I get more obsessed & excited every day. Wife thinks I'm completely out of my mind..... Even after she's driven one.... Jealousy abounds at all you guys & gals out here already having one...

Its OK to hate me.

I didn't know how lucky I was.
I walked into the dealer, they had Black/Black and Yellow/Black. I told them I wanted Silver/Black, they said they could have it in four hours. Four hours later, I drove off with my car, for MSRP no less.
I guess I'll have to put a little extra in the offering plate next Christmas.

Shop around possibly and avoid the wait? I don't know. All I can say, even if you have to wait, it will be worth it.

Dean,
I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. Here are some suggestions for you to consider before you take delivery of the car:

o Make or buy a "Window Roll" before you get your car and start using it the first time you put the top down. You will be glad you did.

o Get a muz mat or make something equivelent before you get your car. This protects the rear window from rubbing on the plastic where it rests.

o Get a can of Plexus and use that for occasional cleanings of the rear window. I have used it and it does a good job. I also plan on getting the meguire's plastic cleaning and polish for the rear window to use once every month or so (seems people here have had good luck with the product).

o Don't go into VTEC for 600 miles (keep the engine at less then 5,500 RPM)

o Although I have not had a chance to do it yet (cold here in Maine) follow all of suggested service station procedures outlined in the users manual.

o When closing the hood do NOT push it closed. Instead follow the procedure in the users manual. Basically you should drop it shut from a couple of feet. Otherwise you may cause a dent.

o Be prepared for your face to become stretched out. This is normal due to the uncontrolable smile that lasts for as long as you are in the car.

Most, if not all, of these items have substantial discussion behind them on this forum which may be found with the search engine.

Any one else with some words of wisdom.

Enjoy the car, its a lot of fun....
