Default Want More Power!

I have an s2000 with header, exhaust, intake and a tuned vafc and i still want to make more power! I dont want to turn to forced induction or nitrous and I do not have unlimited money to spend to build my motor. What else can I do? I am thinking about a testpipe and throttle body. Any Other suggestions?? I was looking at the spoon throttle body and i heard it could get up to 6-8hp, is that true? What other throttle bodys are out there? How much better are ITB's then regular throttle bodys. All input is appreciated.
Thanks

Will you really feel or notice a 6 to 8 hp difference? To make more power you need to get a stroker kit or go FI. Anthing else really wont make a big diff.

my opinion, if you would care to hear, would be that if you want all motor, but running outta mods, lighten up your ride. Doing this could be even greater benefit than beefing up the engine. personally, id rather have a light and nible car on the track, than a heavy beast.

Want to make it faster? Make it lighter. Get rid of your stereo equipment, and remove any extras you don't really require (spare tire, tool kit, etc).

It is extremely hard to make more HP with this car, NA.

listen to tha man...spare tire...toss it, bumper padding, gone...all unnessisary things, just get off that weight. but whatever you do, i strongly do not reccomend removing your AC. this is just ridiculous, and you will regret it in the summer.!! If you still cant get enough, you gotta supercharge it, turbo, or invest in an NHRA dragster...just a thought...

GEARS. Unfortunately, they're not cheap, but next to FI or NOS, they'd give you the best bang for the buck. The stock throttle body is large enough for just about anything you can do to the motor while staying N/A and I really doubt the Spoon TB is going to give you 6-8whp.

If you want power, I'd say dump the exhaust (and maybe header) that you have. Go for a lightweight, single outlet exhaust and either put the stock header back on, or go with something decent. I haven't heard anything good about the DC Sports header.

I wouldn't expect 6-8hp from a bored throttle body.

A test pipe will open up the exhaust path and could give you ~5hp with a free-flowing exhaust. You could also toss in some cams for a good 6-10hp with your current mods.

Gears should also make the car quicker, and anything you can do to shed weight will help, too.

Good luck.

Well thanks guys, you have helped alot. I already have removed my spare tire and tool kit and I dont think I want to dump my radio or AC. I'm not going to get the Throttle Body because of what you guys said. I think I am going to ditch the DC header and try to get a TODA one. Can anybody post a link to a site where I can find quality gears for the s2000? And for the 1/4 mile question, I ran it w/ just an intake and pulled a 14.3, hopefully now ill break into the very high 13's.

Don't bother with the DC header. It's a waste of money
