Warning to all - fuel/timing issues
In theory, your comments are very valid. In practice, we have had excellent results working with the FPR along with modifying the signal to the MAP sensor. You must also keep in mind that the pieces required to modify the stock ECU are not available.
Now, I am not an engineer so I'm not able to give you the full technical story. All I can say is that it works very well. Dialing in the drivability is something we've spent months on to get it just right.

Most/all latemodel Fuel injected cars have knock sensors retardign timing.
THe problem is that it does not retard fast enough, and also it will retard over the whole rpm range.
more of an issue for forced induction cars - when you do get detonation, all it takes is one bigass one for your pistons to go through the roof
