Warranty Headache
I went to the dealer where I bought my car for a number of warranty issues, including premature wear of the leather on the driver's seat. The problem is not the wrinkling, but the leather was basically coming apart. Several spots were no longer black, but were light grey instead.
Anyway, they agreed immediately to replace the leather cover on the seat. I went back yesterday to have the cover installed. When I got the car back I just about flipped. The leather was Extremely baggy and looked very old and worn.
I refused to accept it (it looked MUCH worse than when I brought it in). They agreed that it wasn't acceptable and offered me two choices: have it taken to an upholsterer to see if they could improve the fit or swap my seat for a seat in a used car they had on the lot.
My car has 4500 miles and the used car had 5000 or so (they said). I had them swap the seats, as I was flustered and had been waiting for 4 hours (and the dealer's an hour drive from home). The seat leather is in decent shape, the back of the headrest doesn't have the scraping that mine already had, so in terms of looks, I'm appeased.
However, I've got two major concerns: 1) Is my "finishing touches" warranty still valid since the seats are swapped? 2) Do the seats have VIN # markings that would reduce the resale value of my car (since they no longer match).
Should I be pressing for some other resolution? Should I have taken the other option?
Thanks for reading all the way....

At least according to the dealer, you can't get a new seat from Honda. You can only get seat pan, foam, cover, etc. The dealer has to assemble it and will f*ck it up just as bad next time.
the seats do not come as 'a seat', they come in approximately 42 unassembled parts that cost approximately 4K a pop unassembled. so, don't complain if you only get the leather.
and btw, the vin is no where on the seats.
