Default Warrenty Issues

Well, after barely driving the car for a year, i think im ready to mod. I just went in for my 7500 mile service and asked the tech some questions, only for him to get extremely condescending and tell me that i cant mod the thing except for a K&N filter. Well, id like to get a true coilover setup (Tein) and some nice black wheels for it. Will I void warrenties? Anyone have an expierence? Thanks

On a funnier note, the tech was trying to tell me that the S2000 had one of the stiffest clutchs he ever. Needless to say, since he was a dick, i went back in my civic and let him feel the ACT XT pp w/unsprung 6 puck disc, shut that tool up real quick.

when getting aftermarket suspension, the warranty which covers the stock suspension parts will be void. but if something happens to your motor, they have no right to blame your new suspension for it, it will be very stupid of them to do that.

btw some honda techs are idiots who belong at jiffy lube, some are so clueless it makes me laugh.

Dumb-ass service manager of the year should go to my old Honda dealer. I had a 99 Civ SI, had some issues w/the car. I told him it feels weaker then it used to from 6-8K rpm. His response "Uh, no kidding, you should be shifting at like 5k max in the SI" ..... me " Uh, really? Why does VTEC open up at 5.5k ?" Him "Uh" Really, if you don't know what your about to to talk about, why would you not just go get someone qualified to do the job?

Yes, almost every company says, if you get suspension, then it just voids that part of warranty. Or if you get exhaust, it just avoids your exhaust, or blah blah. It's just the engine mods I would be careful with. And I was under the impression Honda will cover engines with comptech parts if they install it. You just need to check wit them first.

And I was told you could order your S2000 or NSX with a comptech supercharger already installed? You just pay the extra money, plus install, plus a little extra, and it is compleatly covered like that.

Is this true? I have NO idea.

well, i guess i am going to call american honda co and get written documention for the suspension shit, cause i want the bitch lower and ridinf better, but i am not sacrificing the warrenty on the rest of the car. As for rims, i can live with taking the black ones off when i get the car serviced.

If an aftermarket modification can be directly related to the cause of a failure the warranty is voided for that claim. The warranty is still valid for the rest of the vehicle.
