Default Washing your S

I know I'm about to get the stupid post of the day award.

Can you wash the S in a brushless carwash? I have no manual car wash around that's worth a damn, and my Honda dealer sends me a slip for a free wash.

I'm making the assumption you can not take the S through a car wash without a hardtop (yes the top is up). I heard the high power spray will go through your top.

I take mine all the time and it comes out perfect with obviously no swirl marks or anything. I then take it home and detail the heck out of it.

The manual says not to go through a car wash! Check it out.

Other then this is in the wrong forum and should have been posted in "Wash and Wax"

Ok, you can do anything you want. It is your car.

The brushless car washes us high pressure water and chemicals to clean the car. Those chemicals are very harsh. Acid is used to clean the wheels for example. I don't think that the pressure would go through the top. Free is not always free, there is always a charge. You might have to pay for a detail buff to get the car back to original condition affter too many brushless washes.

IMO, I could be wrong.

Sorry, didn't know there was a wash and wax forum.

Didn't bother to check. I guess I was just wondering if you wash it through there maybe once a month if the top would fly off or something one of these times.

Thanks for the input.

I live in an apartment, I don't have the time to detail my vehicle based on my schedule. I love this car, but sometimes after a rainstorm, I can't get to clean it how I'd like to.

Running it through a car wash is quick and gets the dirt off of it.

Try Zaino... I am so stoked about it (see earlier post https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=83682 ) it ALSO keeps your car cleaner! The aniti-static properites are awesome. I Used to was my car every other day, but I have not washed my car since Sat and it looks like I just washed it today!

IMO if you use Zaino and then go to a brushless car wax, it would be like 'dawning' all over again.. going to a car wash is a big NO NO for me.. but that's the type of owner I am.. I see guys with Porsche 911's all time putting in 89 to 91 octane.. so ?

my $.02

It's a matter of convenience for me. I'm unable to wash it, though I always put 92+ Octane in there. My main concern was it wouldn't have a long term damage on my top.
