wat do the spring rates exactly mean?

Default wat do the spring rates exactly mean?

i've done the search and all the threads were about wat the spring rates are of each springs not what they mean and other stuff.. thnx

spring rates are done in newtons ( force ) per centimeter compression
a newton is about 1/10 of a kilogram force on earth
a kilogram is about 2.2 pounds
so there you are
some springs have linear compression rates and some curved , depending on the spacing of the wind of the coils of the spring
