watch out for the wet leaves!
yesterday could have been one of the worst days of my life. i was late to school and it seemed that every person that was driving was going so slow. as i finally get on the last road i have to be on which is one lane road i get stuck behind a pack of about 6 cars and holding up the cars was a huge van with its hazards on going about 20 mph. i am getting pissed off so when i seen the double yellow lines go to a dotted yellow line i decided to go for it because there was not a car in sight on the on coming traffic. i put it in first and take off. i shift into second over a lot of wet leaves and all hell broke lose. my back end wiped out from behind me. it swings to left and then to the right about two times each trying to get control of it meanwhile i am on the wrong side of the road and there are cars to the right of me and a curb and some trees to the left of me. i am shitting my paints right now. i don't remember if i had my foot on the gas still because my back end went so nuts. then the even worst happened. my car wiped me around a almost 720 degrees. i thought for sure that this was it and i was going to hit something. somebody most off be looking out for me that day because i didn't hit one thing. i spun by all these cars and missed hitting a curb and trees. then i got to feel like a bigger ass hole when my car stalled when i stopped spinning and my car wouldn't start. i got to watch all the car that i tried to pass drive by and stare. my car finally started and i mad my way to school. i was in suck shock and could not stop shacking and my friend said i was very pale looking. i just want to thank god that i and my car is safe and for all you that might try something stupid like i did, it is not worth the consequences. i got lucky i might not get that lucky again. just want everyone to watch out for the wet leaves.

A valuable lesson to us all. But don't forget the benefit of a nice leaf-covered road: Handy ABS testing surface! I do it all the time when I have a clear road in front of me, reminds me how cool ABS is.
The same thing happened to me about three weeks after i bought my S. I was riding home in the rain, goin about 45 through an intersection. I changed lanes to pass someone and i gave it too much gas. Started spinning and ended up right at the tree line and was lucky not to have hit anything or anyone. When i finally stopped my car wouldnt start back either. Embarassing. Oh well, the car is so light it only took two people to push it out of the wet grass and mud. When i got home, my dad decided to tell me that he had looked at my tires that morning and that they were very low, and needed to be replaced. Good timing dad.
hahahaha, thanks Ldogdotcom for correcting me. and djohnston i will try that also. yesterday was not a good day for me i also got a no front plate ticket when i was coming home form my girl friends house. it was just one of those days i guess. thankfully i everything is alright.

I believe the theory on "when you spin, both feet in" is two-fold. Both feet refer to the clutch and brake. The clutch is put in to de-couple the engine from the drive wheels. This prevents the engine from going backwards if the car does, and also ensures the engine is running when you stop (in case you need to move after stopping, say to get out of the way of oncoming traffic). The brake is to stop the car as fast as you can. When spinning, you're not going to have much control over where your car is going, so you want maximum braking power to stop the car (and the spin) as fast as possible.
