Default water in the foot well

it leaks. i found water this morning in the passenger side foot well, approx 10 inches north of the S2000 badge on the floor mat. how does it get there ? if it came through the top, it should be on the seat, or at least not that far under the dash .... any ideas ?

granted it rained a lot over the weekend in our area.......and the S doesn't like it at all ....

cheers !

It could be your heater core leaking. Have you checked your engine coolant?

Wet carpet there is typical of the condensation drain for the air conditioner getting plugged up. Odd that it would happen on such a new car... was your car parked facing up a hill?

I remember my MY00 would leak water on my leg every so often.

Usually driving around a corner and with the AC on.

agree with the last two posts........

I thought it wasn't so much the drain getting plugged up, but rather the drain tube would get pulled out of the firewall and therefore drain onto the carpet? I never had this issue so I don't know firsthand, but it could be that flag2carrot simply needs to get under the dash and route the draint tube back to where it needs to be. Perhaps it simply got knocked loose at the dealer during prep.

Last summer my car started leaking water into the cockpit... A few weeks later, as I pulled into my driveway I hear a loud PSSSSSHHHHHHTTTTTTTT... I quickly turned the engine off not knowing what had happened... Turns out my AC compressor blew up and spewed the coolant, oil and metal shavings all through the lines (AKA Black death).... It needed a new compressor, condensor, dryer and coolant/oil...

At least yours is under warranty!!

Could it be the rubber plug behind the battery on the firewall? I remember mine was leaking too but after adjusting that rubber peice, it stopped. Reason is due to installing a audio system, might work for you too.

Well judging from your other post, I would say you just got back from a long cold and wet trip where you probably had the defroster on (this turns on the A/C by default from the factory to de-humidify the air)

The condensation pooled up in the condenser and the drain line leading to the firewall is either disconnected or plugged. You can check it yourself or since you are still under warranty you could take it to the dealer. ( just not Tracy Honda)
