Default Water Leak

Hey guys, so I got this car for a good deal about a month ago knowing I would be replacing the top asap. It leaked a little through the bottom of the back window and small holes in the top corners. I sat in the car while raining to find any leaks and threw some gasket maker on there once it was dry to temporarily fix it. Sat in the car again while raining to confirm all the leaks were stopped and to my surprise they all were.

Well now I realized I am still getting water build-up under the drivers seat and the drivers footwell. Sat in the car during another storm today (its been raining a lot) and I cannot figure out where it is coming from for the life of me. I don't see any damp trails leading to the floor, no water on the back tray, none coming down the wall behind the seat, doesn't seem to be coming from the door seals and is only on the drivers side. Any ideas? Has anyone ever heard of this before?

This may not be related but I also just realized today when the car was quiet that I can hear sloshing from somewhere right behind me it seems. I looked under the rear tray and near the spare tire to see if water was building up and I did not see any. Am I just hearing the gas in the tank? I am still getting used to the noises of another car. Thanks for the help!

Your evap drain is plugged. You see that black box with a hose @ the passenger side floor? the hose drops to the bottom. GEt to it, blow air or water into it - its most likley plugged up.

Awesome, thanks. Why does this being blocked cause the drivers side footwell to gather water when it rains?

Bump for an explaination of why the evap drain being plugged would cause the drivers footwell to gather water when it rains.

My car does this as well.. Only on the driverside.. The footwell gets soaked like I left the window open.. Even if its pouring and I go outside I find no drips or anything anywhere I can't seem to find the wet course as well.. Its very interestingon where its coming from

Fwiw, when I wash my car, I look into the wheel wells to ensure there is a strong flow coming from the drain and that it's not plugged up!

I am not even sure where the drain is, I will have to look into that. That could also be where I am hearing the sloshing of water coming from. Stealth I will let you know if I find out what it is.

I think I am making progress! I think it in fact is whatever gathers water between the top and the body. I got a good angle down into the hole right behind the driver door when the top was down and can see some water built up. The floor doesnt seem to get wet right when it starts raining either so I think that trough in the back is filling up and then it spills over meaning I bet the drain back there is plugged.

Next question...how do I clean this out and where exactly does the drain come out? It looks like a tough spot to get to. Thanks for the help!
