We got a mentionin EVO!
For those that aren't aware EVO is one of those British magazines about cars we could never afford because we spent all our money on imported mags ($10.95!!).
Last year they took in an S2000 GT as a long term test car. In the UK the 'GT' means it comes with a hard top which makes more sense than the popularity of convertibles in rainy blighty.
After initially complaining about it not having an external temperature gauge
(for which the author got a right bollocking) it seems they have finally worked out what the S2000 is all about and fanged it around the track. Their only complaints being numb steering (true I guess) and twitchy rear end (I thought that was a feature).
The last paragraph refers to difficulty fitting the hard top in contrast to www.S2ki.com members who claim to have done it single handed. That said, true S2ki'ers don't need no hard top regardless of the unknown outside temperature.

I noticed that. I also noticed that both evo and Car dislike the S2000. They seem to love the MR2 which is relatively unloved in America. Strange.
With all their complaints about torque and twitchy rear ends, I bet they would prefer the '04+ US models.

MR2? The new one? Yeah, that car's a piece of crap. Drove it, and felt afraid due to all the clunking and unstable ride.
It's funny how some people consider the S2k's twitchy rear a "feature", yet similar things are considered a bug, or a fault in some other cars.
Seems like most people can't seem to agree that some cars are like how they are, because they were built in mind for that. Not all cars are supposed to stick strictly to the ground, and some people loathe ABS simpy because they WANT to throw the rear of the car around the track.
*rant over*

i should read in to it a bit more, author seems like a bit of an idiot though
I corresponded with the author via email and he seemed like a pretty decent guy and from reading the feedback in EVO it seems he's coming around.
I do love the S but... after going to an autocross event, the car just couldn't keep up with the MR2's and the miatas. I think a large part had to do with the difficulty of landing the "perfect" launch.
