Never a second chance for a first impression...

The car should be Black/Black!

I don't know how much room you can spare, but I think it would be effective if you added your licence plate number or your username.....

Hi! I'm [______]

You could either add the text for your license plate or username to the graphic before printing, or you could just write it in the space with a pen, after printing.

Nice card, Insomniak. I like the idea, but would not have had much of an opportunity to use them yet, myself. Other than at a local S2000 owners get together, I can only recall seeing one S2K parked. Anyhow, it might be kinda fun to each design our own card, perhaps with a picture of our own car, or whatever. I haven't done it myself, but I know that there are kits for printing business cards on an inkjet printer. I might give it a try, just for grins.

Hey, collect the whole set, ya know?

I parked next to a blk/blk, hoping to catch the owner and had this note left under my windshield wiper:

"Nice car. From one S2K owner to another"

I was thinking of something a bit more simple.
.

Or maybe something crazy like this

What do you think?

well i don't have or know how much it would be to send it off to get cards printed and cut, but if anyone has connections.. i'll build a high res version like that card and send you the photoshop file(i get some cards though ).

i guess if it were in enough demand we could do one of each color but it would probably be pretty costly. there is no way to please everyone w/ font, car color, etc. but i'll try to spiffy it up when i have more time and can find some higher res images. i need to bug Cthree or someone and get some High res images of the S2000online logo. or just make my own i guess. anyone know what fonts those are?

actually.. in may i'm planning on taking a digital camera and using it on my silver/red to get some some good shot for my own cards. i've seen some of ricks shots we might be able to use. only thing is for print i think you need it to be at least 300dpi. web is only 72dpi.

Based on this thread and the discussions at the meet I think you can consider yourself "connected" Insomniak. I have the use of short run full color digital (Canon) and large format inkjet (72"). We just ordered a cutter to make temp business cards and report covers. I also have a 60" laminator to make some of these items more resistant to the elements. As for the res, 72 dpi is okay for digital printing unless it contains text or you need to enlarge it. You can still use the image, just place the text in Illustrator or Quark. 300 dpi (ppi) is a little high unless you intend to go offset. 100 to 200 ppi works great.
I'll be on vacation through the holidays but I will be happy to check with my employer to determine what material costs would require reimbursement. They have allowed me to create goodies for the other organizations I belong to.
