Default Weak Differentail

I heard that the differential is weak on the s2k and we shouldnt even launch the car. Is this true and if it is what can be done so the car can be launched and taken hard?

I don't think the diff is weak, but it can break if too much strain is continually put on it. When launching, make sure to rev high enough to break the wheels free, as to eleviate the stress from the drivetrain. At what rpm to rev to is determined by ambient temps, road conditions, tires, ect. You'll eventually get the feel for it.

The comptech bearing caps are supposed to help keep the internal components from flexing. Also you can upgrade to a stronger ring and pinion gear set, but no one I know of makes them in the stock ratio, so you'll loose fuel economy.

you are looking for the wrong car to launch hard...aka drag race.

You guys ever get wheel hop?

One time I was test driving a Boxster S (no salesman ) and I must have done something wrong and the car hopped a good bit on launch, not cool.
