Also, would anyone have any links as to removing the mentioned parts

Thanks............David

sorry cant comment on the radio....

but WHY ON EARTH and you trying to remove the roll hoops ???
that is really not a good idea and hope you have a flame suit on for following posts.

Weight reduction goes with things like:
exhaust
carpet
seats
AC unit
wheels,
get rid of soft top and replace with CF HT.

and lose weight yourself. or dont fill up the tank etc etc etc.

but please dont think of trying to remove the roll hoops

The radio weighs less than 1 pound, with the speakers you might get to that 1 lbs mark.

If you have an aftermarket roll bar, then the roll hoops can be removed. They can be unbolted if you remove the plastic cover behind the seats.

You might try searching in the Racing and Competition forum for more info on safety and weight reduction.

There is no way the radio is less than a pound. The entire unit with speakers is probably near 10 pounds.

This is what I plan on doing. Loose the stock wheels and pick up some really light wieght 17 inch wheels. These will look good and save quite a bit of wieght. Next get a single exhaust. Extra power and again lose a lot of wieght. Also you can get a light wieght racing battery to replace the heavy stocker. Free mods are removing the truck jack+tools and the spare. No way would I go to the extreme of removing carpet and the radio unless I plan on only racing the car. Wieght can be lost elsewhere.

These are good suggestions for weight reduction.
